CARE is well-positioned in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia, with experienced staff and longstanding linkages to affected communities. We also have the capacity, working in coordination with regional and in-country humanitarian teams, to undertake both short-term emergency interventions and longer-term recovery programming. In response to the 2011 Horn of Africa Food Crisis, we reached more than 1.8 million people in the region to date. CARE is working alongside our partners to provide lifesaving interventions in the Dadaab refugee camps. Along with our work helping meet the acute needs of refugees, CARE is continuing our ongoing interventions reaching those who remain at home in Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya.
