Handicap International is working with other humanitarian agencies in Dadaab refugee camps to ensure provision of basic and specific needs to 16,000 vulnerable persons caught up in the current food crisis. Handicap International is providing concrete support (physical accompaniment) and information about existing services for exhausted new arrivals and identifying vulnerable persons in need of immediate specialized or basic needs assistance at reception and registration points. Mobile teams deployed in the outskirts and the new camps make sure that new arrivals in outlying parts of the camp have equal access to services, as well as meeting specific needs. Handicap International is also providing wheelchairs, walkers, rehabilitation care and psychosocial support to those in need.
